132 KV Transmission Line at Horipur

In the field of power generation, transmission and distribution systems SAHCO has provided a complete range of engineering and project management services independently and/or in collaboration with foreign companies. These include 230x132KV, 132x33KV and 33/11KV Sub-stations and their inter-connected 230KV, 132KV & 33KV (Underground) Transmission Lines under Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB), Dhaka Electric Supply Authority (DESA), Rural Electrification Board (REB), Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO), etc. SAHCO also implemented Greater Dhaka Power Distribution Project (Phase-II), Greater Khulna Power Distribution Project (Phase-I) and expansion project at Rajshahi, Natore, Ishwardi, Shahjadpur, Tongi and Chittagong in association with M/s. Lucky Engineering Company (LEC), Korea. SAHCO also installed a large number of Grid Sub-stations and Distribution Sub-stations in association with M/s. Hyosung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., Korea under 18 Town Power Distribution Project, 7 Transmission Lines Project and 9th Power Project under ADB Loan.

Although this breathtaking beach is considered to be part of the attractions in Bangladesh, beautification projects and developments have been introduced to grow Cox’s Bazar into a prime holiday destination.

Escalator Foot Over Bridge

Dhaka North City Corporation is installing the country's first ever electric pedestrian escalator as part of a footbridge in the capital's Banani to encourage people to use overpass and prevent unsafe road crossing.
The Tk 1.5-crore escalator, imported from Malaysia, is being installed under a World Bank sponsored scheme, Clean Air and Sustainable Environment (CASE), which began in mid-2009.The escalator, being built on a pilot basis, will connect Sainik Club and Banani road-11 across airport road.It is intended to increase traffic mobility and reduce accidents by encouraging pedestrians, particularly the elderly people, to use the overhead bridge instead of transversely crossing the busy road, said Shehab Ullah, CASE project director.The facility is expected to open to public this month and Dhaka North City Corporation will maintain it.It, however, will not be useful for the physically challenged people, as it will only elevate the pedestrians onto the bridge and then they will have to take the manual staircase to get down.It will also be difficult for those heading from Kakoli end to use the facility as the escalator is being fitted to the south side of the footbridge, said Abrar Simon, a resident of Banani.The north (Kakoli) side of the bridge will continue to have a pair of regular staircase.“We will survey how it impacts on pedestrian's behaviour,” said Shehab, adding, “If it achieves the desired goal, the city corporations may replicate it elsewhere as well.”A total of 23 new footbridges are being built on major thoroughfares in the capital under the CASE scheme, he said.Shamsul Hoque, a professor of civil engineering at Buet, said the initiative itself was good but its sustainability depended on proper maintenance and continuity.“It should not be a showy beginning of a miserable end, as it happens in Bangladesh in many cases,” he added.

Tongi is a large city in the province of Gazipur, located about 15 miles north from Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The town is famous with its large Export Processing Zones (EPZ), where plenty of small companies and businesses exist, giving jobs to a great number of Tongi residents. Tongi has a long and interesting history, it played a role in important battles of the Middle ages, and an old fort built in the 17th century witnessed most of those.

Hathazari Sub-Station

Hathazari 100MW Power Plant Project (Dual fuel based HFO Fired Engine Generating Set) having net output 98.164 MW at site conditions of 35°C, 1.013 bar, 98% RH at Hathazari, Chittagong under Construction of 820 MW Peaking Power Plant (HFO Fired Engine Generating Sets & Dual-Fuel GT) Projects.

A Power Station with HFO fired Engine Generator Sets of 100 MW+/-.15% total net capacity at site conditions (35°C, 1.013 bar, 98% RH) has been set up by Power Development Board at Hathazari, Chittagong a district in the south-east part of Bangladesh and close to Chittagong port.

The Plant consisting of maximum identical units having capacity not less than 5 MW has been installed in the space as per site layout. The Project has been implemented on turnkey basis from GOB fund.

The Power Station has been connected with the Hathazari 132 kv Grid Sub-Station through cable and other electrical equipment as per single line diagram.

The project may be classified into the following broad areas. Details are however given later in the scope of work.

Logistic Center At Bhatiary

The Custom house, Chittagong is the largest custom station in Bangladesh, located by the estuary of the Karnaphuli River in Patenga, near the city of Chittagong. It is a tidal seaport dominated by trade in containerised products. It is one of the two main sea ports of Bangladesh - most of the export and import of the country are handled via this port. The history of Chittagong port dates back to the fourth century B.C. Malayan history chronicles the journey of the sailor Buddha Gupta from Chittagong to Malaya in the 4th century B.C. The Periplus of the Erythraean Sea documents the existence of Chittagong port in the ancient times.
